\u201cAnyone could have painted that\u2026\u201c<\/h2>

Art is for sure a controversial topic. What is art? What qualifies art to be \u201cgood\u201c? Does art have to be aesthetically appealing?<\/p>

Even though I very much enjoy creating art myself, I have struggled a lot with its justification and right for existence. After all, what does art do? It\u2019s just shapes of colour, digital or physical, that our brain interprets as \u201cthings\u201c.<\/p>

Having spoken to art enthusiasts as well as skeptics, I personally realised that art is something I can\u2019t live without. Regardless of any objective justification. It allows me to sink deep into a state of flow, forgetting time and space. And, in many cases, fulfils me with joy and pride.<\/p>

It is about the process of creating something from nothing. The result is a unique piece that hasn\u2019t been there before, but now has meaning to you. And that\u2019s something beautiful anyone can do!<\/p>

The Power of Art<\/h2>

Whilst creating art can be an enjoyable activity, observing it can be too! Besides having an aesthetic value, artworks oftentimes inherit a deeper meaning. You can wear art as a statement such as \u201cProtect our Oceans\u201c. In companies, government organisations and the eduction sector art is used to convey messages or explain complex issues and systems. If done well, art allows to concisely express an idea in a split second.<\/p>

I can write an essay about the disastrous state of our natural environment or I can create an image with a burning tree\u2026and an astronaut trying to save the world with huge water balloons.<\/p>

Ok, not quite realistic, but you get the idea.<\/p>

The Future of Art<\/h2>

Looking to the nearest future in 2023 or maybe over the next couple of years, we know that AI image generation from text will play a huge role. We can edit existing images and also create completely new visual worlds just by typing in some text. AI creates outputs for us in seconds.<\/p>

Our imagination is extended through the lens of AI. But, what will be the next stage - from physical to digital to\u2026transcendence? Will we create art purely in our heads and share our mind with others?<\/p>

It is actually quite hard to imagine how the boundaries can be pushed even further. So, I asked our AI painter to create \u201cA photo of an unknown futuristic species creating art\u201d.<\/p>
